Restricted/ Selective Tender is basically the same as Open tender, however, the supplier needs to be invited to compete for the tender competition. The competition is limited to certain select suppliers instead of being open to all suppliers in the market. These suppliers are those who are known by their track-record to be suitable for a contract of that size, nature and complexity required. The purpose of this process is to invite only high-quality bids from suppliers who have the capabilities to deliver a project of that scale.
